Dr John Crowley GP and Occupational Physician.

Dr John Crowley, founder of yourGP.ie , is in practice in Cork since 2016 having returned from Melbourne after 2 years of General Practice and Occupational Health.
His main areas of interest are in patient centered health promotion and disease prevention, where research in primary care plays a major role.
He is a teacher in the School of Medicine, University College Cork, having had similar roles while in the University of Melbourne.
He is also a GP trainer for the Irish College of General Practitioners,
Medical education, audit and continued improvement in medical standards is a corner stone of John’s work.
John is a medical director in the Wellness Centre in Apple and is the clinical lead for Apple Family medical services in Ireland.
He has extensive Occupational Health experience, dealing with the largest multinationals and semi-states as well as a wide range of SME’s throughout Ireland. John studied in the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in the Royal College of Physicians in London.
Other areas of interest include paediatrics, minor surgery, sports and exercise medicine, dermatology and medicine for the elderly.

Dr Liz Guerin

Dr Liz studied medicine in the Royal College of Surgeons where she went on to specialise in General Practice on the Cork Specialist Training Scheme. Liz’s areas of interest are women’s health, long acting reversible contraception options, and paediatrics. Liz is a talented violinist!

Dr Nassreen Abdullah

Dr Nassreen joined our practice in September 2022, she is currently on the Cork General Practice Specialist Training Scheme. She completed her medical training in the Royal College of Surgeons in 2015, after which she completed the core surgical training programme and became a member the Royal College of Surgeons.  

Nass worked as a Urology Registrar in the Mercy University Hospital and Cork University Hospital. She completed a Masters in Surgery in 2019.  As part of her GP training she worked in different disciplines within the hospital; she was awarded paediatric SHO of the year in the Mercy University Hospital.  

 Her areas of interest include women’s health, contraception, antenatal care and cancer survivorship. She continues to have a special interest in urology including men’s health and bladder cancer.

 Dr Diarmuid Linehan

Originally from West Cork, Diarmuid studied medicine in UCC before moving to New Zealand for a couple of years to gain experience in various aspects of hospital medicine. He returned to specialise in general practice on the North Dublin City training scheme, with his final 6 months in Cork. Diarmuid practices person centred care and has keen interests in paediatrics, preventative and lifestyle medicine and medical education. Diarmuid enjoys the outdoors on his time off.

Dr Patrick Crowley

Dr Paddy is in general practice in Cork for more than 30 years where he has cared for all generations of the community throughout his life. Prior to this he worked in the USA and Canada.
His areas of interest include paediatrics, general medicine, ante-natal care, occupational and sports medicine. He is also President of UCC Hurling Club.

Nurse Phil McKenna

Nurse Phil has vast experience in medicine having spent most of her career in the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital in various roles, upto and including senior hospital management. Phil entered General Practice in 2017 and thoroughly enjoys women’s health, paediatrics and the wide ranging scope General Practice offers.

Nurse Aisling Walls

Aisling completed her Bachelor of General Nursing Science in NUI Galway in 2011. She then went on to gain experience in Major Theatre in University College Hospital Galway where she specialised in Anaesthetic and Recovery Nursing. Following on from that, Aisling worked as a staff nurse in St Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin in the Acute Medical Unit. Aisling then completed her Higher Diploma in Midwifery in NUI Galway /University College Hospital Galway and this is where her interest in Women’s health, Maternity care and Paediatrics grew. Aisling has been working as a Practice Nurse since 2015 and holds certificates in Diabetes in Primary Care, Cervical Screening and Family Planning.

Carol O’Mahony – Admin team

Carol is a Derry native who moved to Cork with a wealth of healthcare experience have spent years as practice manager  of a large medical centre in Derry City. Carol then entered hospitality and was front office manager for a hotel in Cork. Carol’s skills include excellent customer service, efficient task management and attention to detail. Carol’s interests include spending time with her family, watching her son play Gaelic games and rearing calves no less!

Mary Madden – Admin team

Mary joined the practice in August 2022 after spending the previous 4 years in medical administration. Mary spent many years working in the manufacturing/operations sector before taking time off to raise her family. Now Mary is providing a welcoming and caring approach to all patients attending Salutem Clinic.

Psychotherapy + Counselling in Salutem www.YourGP.ie

Sandra Reck is a counsellor and psychotherapist. Sandra obtained her B.A Honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy with MTU. Sandra also has the added benefit of 16 years’ clinical experience as a senior pharmacist technician.

Sandra practices Integrative Psychotherapy- a style of counselling based on treating every individual uniquely to address their needs and worries. Areas of special interest of Sandra’s include stress management, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and relationship issues. Sandra offers a supportive and non- judgemental space to explore your problems at your own pace with complete confidentiality.

School of Medicine UCC and the Irish College of General Practice ICGP

We are a recognised medical teaching facility by both UCC and the ICGP. Throughout the year we host student placements in the practice. They will assist in consultations with our patients, to further their education. We thank you most sincerely for playing such a critical part in their educational journey.
