€6515-minute video consultation with a Cork GPPrescription and medical certificate included where clinically appropriate.Book your consultation
The Salutem Online Doctor brings an online doctor in Ballincollig and Cork to wherever you are — a 15-minute video consultation with one of our own doctors from our clinic in Ovens, near Ballincollig, and not an anonymous call centre. You book a time that suits you, pay online, and the doctor calls you at that time. You can use it from home, from work or from anywhere in Ireland.
One price: €65, paid when you book. Where they are clinically appropriate, your prescription and your medical certificate are included in that price, with nothing further to pay at the end of the call.
€65 — all in. One number, paid at the time of booking, covering everything the consultation involves:
What the €65 does not include:
Pick an online consultation slot that suits you and pay the €65 when you book. You get a confirmation email with your time and the link for the call.
Open the link on a phone, tablet or laptop. You have 15 minutes with the doctor, who takes your history, looks at anything you can show on camera and agrees a plan with you.
Your prescription goes to your pharmacy by secure Healthmail and your certificate is emailed to you — both included in the €65.
Some problems need an examination, a test or a procedure. Please book an appointment at the clinic instead if you need:
Paid at booking. The full €65 is taken through the booking page, so there is nothing to pay at the end of your consultation. Full fee list.
Choose an Online Doctor appointment, pay the €65 and you are booked — no referral, and you do not need to be an existing patient of the practice. Prefer to talk to someone first? Call us on +353 21 735 5499.
Most everyday GP problems can be dealt with online. It works best when the doctor can reach a decision from your history and, where useful, a photo. If your problem needs an examination, a swab, bloods or a procedure, you will be better served by an appointment at the clinic — and if that becomes clear during the call, the doctor will tell you straight away.
You will be told during the consultation and we will arrange an appointment at our clinic in Ovens. You are not left without a plan: the doctor will explain what needs to be examined and how soon.
Where a prescription is clinically appropriate it is included in the €65 — there is no separate prescription charge. It is sent electronically by secure Healthmail to the pharmacy of your choice, so it is usually waiting for you. You still pay the pharmacy for the medicine itself.
Yes. If the doctor agrees a certificate is warranted, it is included in the €65 and emailed to you after the call. Certificates are issued only where they are clinically justified — the doctor cannot certify a period of illness they have not assessed.
Yes. Controlled medicines — for example strong painkillers, sedatives, sleeping tablets and ADHD medicines — are not prescribed at an online consultation. Antibiotics are prescribed only where they are clinically indicated, not on request.
No. The Online Doctor is open to anyone in Ireland, whether or not you are registered with us. If you would like us as your regular GP, you can register as a patient at any time.
No — this is a private service and the €65 fee applies. If you hold a card, your routine GP care with us is still covered in the usual way; see what your card covers.
A phone, tablet or laptop with a camera, a reasonable internet connection and somewhere private to talk. Have the name of your pharmacy and a list of your current medicines to hand. You will receive a link before your appointment — no app or account is needed.
Yes, with a parent or guardian present for the whole call. Babies and young children with a fever, a rash or any breathing difficulty should be seen in person rather than online.
Yes. The call is confidential and is not recorded, and what you discuss is written into your medical record exactly as it would be for a visit to the clinic.
Medical card / GP visit card holders: this is a private service and its fee is not covered by your card. See what your card does and does not cover.
